We are excited to announce that registration is now open for Hoops for a Home Court, a 3v3 fundraiser taking place on December 7th. This event is a partnership between Wayland Youth Basketball Association and the Wayland Community Sports Center initiative (www.waylandcsc.org).

The Tournament: Girls and Boys, grades 1 through 8. Participants from Wayland and surrounding towns are invited! The teams will compete in double-elimination games across four age groups at Wayland High School and Middle School. We’ll have fantastic prizes for the winning teams and cool t-shirts for all registered players.

Fundraising: We encourage kids to engage with their community and neighbors to spread awareness about the WCSC and raise funds ahead of the event. We have a fundraising kit they can use! The top team in each of the four age groups that raise the most money will win four amazing Red Sox tickets, including pre-game on-field access to batting practice. **All funds will be used to support the WCSC’s initiative to bring a multi-generational community sports center here to Wayland!

Coaches & Teams: Coaches, please reach out to your teams asap to encourage participation and to assist with creating teams. This is obviously for a great cause and will be a ton of fun!!! Hoops, prizes, competition – what more could we ask for!?

In an effort to create balanced and fair brackets, we will have two separate tournament divisions for teams to play in:

  1. The “MetroWest Travel Division”
  2. The “Open Division”

Teams can now select which division to enter during the registration process. For those teams that have already signed up, we will reach out to assign your division.

**No players participating in their town’s “Travel/MetroWest” league is allowed to play in the Open Division.

**All 1st – 3rd Graders will be placed in the “Open Division”.

**For families with planned activities on December 7, we will do our best to accommodate and schedule games around your conflicts. Games will start no earlier than 8:00am and we hope to conclude the tournament as early as possible. All depends on the number of participating teams.

In addition to the great prizes we have for our winners, it’s worth noting that if the WCSC project ends up not happening, all proceeds from this fundraiser will then be evenly distributed to our local non-profit Wayland Youth Sport orgs. **This tournament is to benefit of all of our youth sports here in Wayland!
