| Greetings from Wayland Youth Basketball – hope this finds you and your families having a great summer!!
Reaching out to share some exciting news. We’ve received confirmation that the new WMS hoops will be installed the week of August 12!! All fourteen of them! This includes new rims, nets, and 6 official size glass backboards that are height adjustable for our mini hoopers!
On behalf of WYBA I’d like to thank all of you that contributed to the fundraiser last spring. Your continued commitment to our community and student-athletes is inspiring and an example of what we can accomplish when working together. I’d also like to thank our Wayland Boosters and Middle School PTO for their contributions, specifically Melissa Spelman and Angela Young.
For our WPS administration, thank you to acting Superintendent David Fleishman, School Committee Chair Erin Gibbons, and our entire school committee for their approval & support of the fundraiser. Thank you to Susan Bottan and Dale Gudejko in the WPS business office for their tireless work and commitment to our schools and kiddos! And of course, thank you to the amazing WPS facilities and custodial team for their endless care and support of WYBA. We quite literally wouldn’t be able to get into the gyms without them!
Last but not least, one final special shout out and thank you to Quentin Nowland & Gina Anderson who were instrumental in helping to spearhead the campaign and create the momentum needed to get it done!
