Greetings from Wayland Youth Basketball!!

We hope this finds you well and enjoying the final weeks of summer with your family and friends. While it may seem early, basketball season will be here before we know it!!  With that being said, the 2023-2024 WYBA programs are OPEN FOR REGISTRATION!

We will once again be offering our K-3 Winter Skills Academy, our In-Town program (formerly Tri-Town), as well as our Travel program (formerly Metrowest). For more info, details, and registration, please visit our site at: www.waylandbasketball.org.

WYBA Program Updates:

Registration Fee Updates: Moving forward, all WYBA program registration fees will cover the total cost of participation. This includes uniforms, league fees, gym rentals, and additional WYBA “swag.”

New Partnership: WYBA is happy to announce our new partnership with largest Adidas, Under Armour, and Nike retailer in the northeast, 3-Step sports, for all of our gear and apparel needs. The In Town and Travel programs will have matching, full uniforms (shorts & jerseys), as well as some additional WYBA apparel.

Wholistic Approach to Team Formation and Placement: Starting this season, WYBA will be adopting a new approach to our Travel and In Town programs team formation. While our families and players will be able to provide specific interest in one program or the other, all players will now initially register for WYBA by providing a deposit of $200.  We will then host a series of open gyms, clinics, and/or skill-sessions that we will use to evaluate all players. At the conclusion in mid October we will then give our recommendation on which program would be best for your child’s growth, development, and overall basketball experience. There will no longer be “tryouts and/or cuts” in WYBA.  Everyone interested in participating this Winter will be placed on a team that is best for their development.

Practice Structure: For both our In Town and Travel programs, we will be conducting multi-team practices early in the season and then periodically throughout the winter. These practices will be led by WYBA board members as well as our more experienced coaches in an effort to further align all WYBA teams and programs. The goal is to “connect the dots” in all aspects of our WYBA organization. Our coaching, our culture, and our commitment to providing a positive and meaningful experience to all of our players is the priority.

Hope to see you soon and Go Wayland!!
